Cochran – Marvin Howell Reeves, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2012 in Athens after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Reeves was a life long resident of Cochran and was the son of the late J.T. and Lillian Howell Coleman Reeves. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Reeves NeSmith, his brother, Jerry Coleman and sisters, Virginia Coleman McKinnon, Patsy Reeves Diana and twin sister, Lowell Reeves Jones. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base, former employee of Armstrong Corp. and a member of the Cochran Masonic Lodge #217 F&AM. He was a Christian and attended Cochran First Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Joyce Rozier Reeves of Cochran; his children, Larry and Susan Reeves of Athens, Lisa and Greg Fletcher of Suwanee; his grandchildren, Howell NeSmith, Eden and Erin Fletcher; his sister, Jimmie Reeves Boling of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Cochran Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 732, Cochran, GA 31014.
The family is at 156 Hillcrest Dr. and will greet friends following the service Sunday at Mathis Funeral Home.
