Yonker – Nannie S. Barrs, age 100, died Wednesday in Bryant Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Barrs had lived most of her life in Bleckley County. She was the daughter of the late John and Carrie Harrell Scarborough and the widow of William Robert “Rob” Barrs. She was preceded in death by her son James Willard Barrs. She was retired from L&H Shirt Factory and member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors are her children, Mavis Bryant of Covington, Dorothy Mullis of Cochran, Grace Allen of Yonker, Alice (Wayne) Carter of Hawkinsville and Johnny L. (Pamela) Barrs of Dover, MN; sister Ruth Dykes of Dodge County; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

The family is at 629 Highway 126 and will greet friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Friday at Mathis Funeral Home.
