Cochran – Mary Davis Hill, age 65, of San Antonio, TX, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, in the Bleckley Memorial Hospital in Cochran. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hill, born in Cochran, had lived in San Antonio, TX for 20 years. She was the daughter of the late James J. and Josephine F. Davis and was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy Davis, Jimmy Davis and Billy Davis. She was a Certified Natural Health Professional and former employee at Robins Air Force Base. She graduated with a Business Degree from Middle Georgia College and a graduate of RHEMA Bible College. She was saved and baptized at Evergreen Baptist Church in Bleckley County and was currently a member of Christian Family Church in San Antonio, TX. Mary’s passion was serving God through worship, being a loving wife and teaching her children and grandchild in the ways of the Lord.
Survivors are her husband, Col , John Q. Hill, Jr. USAFR (Ret.), of San Antonio, TX; children; Ginger (Robert) Farrell of Seattle, WA, Malia (John) Gattas of Schertz, TX, John Q. (Laurie) Hill III and Sylvia Hill of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Jeremiah Gattas; sisters, JoAnne (Bobbie) Strickland of Irwin County, Marjorie Bazemore Alligood of Dexter, Betty Brown of Cochran; brother, Robert (Lavonia) Davis of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1997 Rebie Road, Dudley, GA 31022.
The family is at 162 Ann St. and will greet friends one hour before the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
