Atlanta – Norman M. Smith, age 77, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith, born in Bleckley County, had lived most of his life in Atlanta. He was the son of the late Archie Otho "A.O" and Ellen Knight Smith. He was a machinist, having worked at Emory University, Delta Air Lines and Georgia Tech.

Survivors are his wife, Sue Lupo Smith of Atlanta; children, Rheba Smith, Anna (Ronald) Bourque and Danielle Marie Smith of Atlanta; grandchild, Carlton Blue (Johnetta) Huckeba of Atlanta; his brother, Wayne Smith of Little Rock, AR; several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at 757 Cary-Salem Rd in Cochran on Saturday and will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until time for the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
