Hawkinsville – Al Jones, Age 67, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. Funeral services will be held Monday November 6, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in Broad Street Baptist Church in Hawkinsville. Burial will be private in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Cary.

Al was born on June 28, 1956. He was the son of the late Leonard C. and Nan Cherrie Dykes Jones and was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Jones and his sister-in-law, Darlene Hobbs Jones. Al was a lifelong resident of Hawkinsville and graduated with the class of 1974 from Hawkinsville High School. After high school, he attended Middle Georgia College and graduated from Georgia College with a degree in History. He was retired from Middle Georgia College where he worked for 30 years as a Water Plant Operator. Al was a lifetime member of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals. He was a member of Broad Street Baptist Church and had served as a deacon.

Survivors are his wife, Lucy Jones of Hawkinsville; his nieces, Courtney (Blake) Foskey of Hawkinsville, Stacey Brady of Cochran, Stephanie (Ben) Kitchens of Macon; his nephew, Stephen (Christi) Reese of Byron; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broad Street Baptist Church, 285 Broad Street, Hawkinsville, GA 31036, or to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.

The family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Monday, at Broad Street Baptist Church in Hawkinsville.
