Alex "Chapple" Horton, age 81, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Bleckley County, Chapple was the son of the late Nathan and Carrie Lee Davis Horton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda L. Jackson Horton; his daughter, Susan Anna Horton; and his sister, Shirley Horton Mayne.

Chapple was a graduate of Cochran High School and spent his career working as a load packer at Lithonia Lighting before retiring. In addition to his professional life, he served as a preacher for Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for a time. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of Salem Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Annette Horton Nguyen (Gary Raffield) of Cochran and Joy Horton (Mikey) Barlow of Rentz; his grandchildren, T.J. (Amanda) Nguyen, Kimberly (Jeremiah) Brown, Amber Horton, Nathaniel Horton, Emmie Walker, Jace Barlow, and Joseph Barlow; his great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Karson, Mckayla, Kayden, and Aiden; his sister, Frances Horton of Cochran and his brother-in-law, Johnny Mayne of Cochran. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.

The family is at 179 N Lakeshore Drive, Cochran and will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
