Angelyn Reeves Garnto passed away peacefully at her residence in Adrian, on July 21, 2026, at the age of 84. A visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home located at 151 E. Dykes Street in Cochran, Georgia on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at Mathis Funeral Home at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Angelyn was born on October 7, 1941, in Chester, Georgia, to the late Elijah Blumer and Pearl Hobbs Reeves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Prangle Garnto; her son, Jeffery Garnto; and her siblings, Nelle Brack, E.B. Reeves, and Jimmy Reeves. A proud graduate of Cochran High School Class of 1959, Angelyn went on to build a career with United Insurance Company before retiring.
Angelyn had a zest for life and found joy in many simple pleasures. She loved playing card games, especially Hand and Foot, and had an undeniable sweet tooth. She enjoyed reading and cooking and was known for her sharp mind and generous spirit. Angelyn cherished time spent with her family and was particularly adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for giving the best back scratches.
She is survived by her son, Michael Garnto (Marilyn) of Vonore, TN; her daughter, Pam Garnto Mimbs of Adrian; her grandchildren: Megan Parrish (Jonathan) of Wrightsville; Heather Greer (Glen) of Bowie, MD; Ben Mimbs (Lilli) of Chico, CA; Amanda Mimbs of Dublin; M.E. Mimbs of Adrian; and Raz Mimbs of Mansfield, OH. Angelyn also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Isaac, Elaina, Elice, Annie June, Elijah, and Koa. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: Pearlie Tackett of Warner Robins; Marvin Reeves of Macon; Cathy Carter (Mike) of Blairsville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Angelyn’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
