Cochran – Anita "Nita" B. Marlatt, age 83, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 in Atrium Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon. Memorial services will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens County.

Nita, born in Laurens County, had lived in Cochran since 1972. She was the daughter of the late Lucian and Bernice Hatfield Bracewell and was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Marlatt, III, her sister, Marion Couey and her nephews, Greg Couey and Jeff Staser. She was retired from Middle Georgia College and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors are her son, Mark (Amy) Mimbs of Cochran; her grandchildren, Brianna Loyd and Brent Mimbs of Cochran; her great grandchildren, "Precious Angel Girls", Emma and Hannah Loyd of Cochran and Wyatt Loyd of Dexter; her sisters, Hazel Wood of Utah and Jean Staser of Laurens County; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family is at 1001 Empire-Chester Highway, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Friday, August 2, 2024 at Mathis Funeral Home.
