Anita Kay Gilbert, née Sexton, a native of Virginia Beach, VA, born June 21, 1948, to Charles Warren Sexton and Coyance Ila Sexton, née Brune, due to symptoms related to dementia, received her eternal inheritance, which her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ secured for her, on March 11, 2024, aged 75 years. She is survived by her husband Roger Paul Gilbert, her brother Charles Warren Sexton, Jr. (Pamela Joyce Crump) of Suffolk, VA, her sons Millard Johnson (Jay) Bennett, Jr. (Andrea Leslea Cole) of Lynchburg, VA and Andrew James Bennett (Paula Darlene Sewell) of Cochran, GA, her stepchildren Roger Paul Gilbert, Jr. of Cochran, GA, Rebekka T. Gilbert of Cochran, GA, and Jacob Ashton Gilbert of San Francisco, CA, her grandchildren Bailey Elizabeth Bennett, Jonathan Cole Bennett, Isabelle Marie Bennett, Joanna Faith Bennett, and Kolbie Maxine Bennett, and her beloved dachshund Bella. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday March 20th at Trinity Episcopal Church at 110 5th Street, Cochran, GA 31014. The family will greet friends an hour before the service, Wednesday, March 20th, at Trinity Episcopal Church.
