Cochran – Barbara Moore Harris, age 81, died Monday, March 14, 2022, at Pinewood Manor in Hawkinsville. Graveside memorial services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 11:00 A.M., in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Barbara, born on March 13, 1941, had lived most of her life in Cochran. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Maudie Mae Brown Moore and was preceded in death by her siblings, Pauline King, Frances Brown, Buddy Moore, Frank Moore and Shirley Dykes. She graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in South Carolina and also attended business school in Columbia, South Carolina. She had worked as a banker and was retired from the United States Post Office where she was a rural mail carrier. Mrs. Barbara was an avid golfer and served as the treasurer for Bowden Golf Course in Macon. She was a wonderful Mema and a good cook, who was known for her delicious cakes. She was a Primitive Baptist.

Survivors are her high school sweetheart and husband of 62 years, John E. Harris, Sr. of Cochran; her children, Zeke (Cheryl) Harris of Cochran and Susan (Larry) Reeves of Athens; grandchildren, Ashley (Trent) Alexander, Kyle Harris and Trey (Logan) Harris; great-grandchildren Ellis Alexander, Huntlee Kade Harris and one on the way; her brother, Billy Moore of Warner Robins and several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 448 Ga Hwy 26 W and will greet friends after the service Thursday in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
