Becky M. Brooks, age 69, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Heritage Oaks Health in St. Simons, Georgia. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Cochran on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Visitation will take place from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.

Born in Perry, Georgia, Becky was the daughter of the late Luther and Billie Goode Mosteller. She spent her early years in Perry and was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry. A graduate of Perry High School, she continued her education at Brewton-Parker Junior College, where she met her future husband, Ken Brooks. Becky later earned a bachelor's degree in education from Georgia Southwestern College and went on to complete both a master's degree and a sixth-year certificate. During her college years, she also served as a camp counselor at Camp Pinnacle in Clayton, Georgia.

Becky dedicated 35 years to the field of education with steadfast commitment and care. Her teaching career began in Plains, Georgia, where she taught at the elementary school level. After relocating to Cochran with Ken, she joined Bleckley County Elementary School and later transitioned into Special Education within the Bleckley County School System. Throughout her career, Becky touched the lives of countless students and families through her compassionate service and dedication to learning.

Her faith was central to her life. As an active member of First Baptist Church of Cochran, Becky found spiritual strength and community that sustained her throughout the years.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Ken Brooks of Dover Bluff; two daughters: Jenny Brooks of Cochran and Beth (Chris) Velasquez of Auburn, Alabama; four grandchildren: Brooks, Ashlyn, Juliana, and Caysen; and her brother Martin (Donna) Mosteller of Tallahassee, Florida. She is also fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
