Chester – Bernard "Scrap' Lewis, age 82, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, in Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 7, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Dodge County.

Mr. Lewis, was born August 8, 1938 in Dodge County to the late Robert O. and Rosa Pearle Giddens Lewis. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Aliene Lewis Dykes and Laurene Lewis Smith McCart, his brother, Robert Calvin Lewis and his nephew Donnie Smith. Mr. Lewis worked at Macon Manufacturing Company for over 25 years and then worked jobs in Dodge County and Pulaski county before retiring in 2000.

Scrap is survived by his brother, Vernon "Dink" Lewis of Missouri; his sister-in-law, Joyce Lewis of Macon; nieces and nephews, Janice (Darryl) Butler of Martinez, Tony (Karen) Smith of Auburn, Bruce (Kim) Lewis of Macon, Ellen (Reggie) Sheffield of Eastman, Randy Lewis, Rodney Lewis, Daryl Lewis all of Missouri; his cousin, Patsy Mullis of Dodge County.

The family would like to recognize and thank all the people at Hospice Care Options in Eastman, Dodge County Hospital and Heart of Georgia Nursing Home for their loving and compassionate care and support during Scrap's illness.

The family will greet friends one hour before the service Friday at Mathis Funeral Home.
