Cochran – Bessie Thompson Little, age 88, died Thursday, January 3, 2019, in Dublinair Nursing Home in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Little, born in Laurens County, had lived most of her life in Cochran. She was the daughter of the late Ben N. and Sadie Roland Knighton and the wife of the late Howard Thompson. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nellie Roberts, Brenda Knighton and Irene Johnson and her brothers, Joe Knighton, Melton Knighton and Bennie Knighton. She was retired from Blue Bird Bus Corporation and had worked at L&H Shirt Factory. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Shorty Little of Cochran; her daughter, Gale (Joe) Maynard of Cochran; step-sons, Chuck (Laura) Little and Joe Little of Cochran; sisters, Opal Mullis of Cochran and Claudia (Kenneth) Ellington of Montrose; brothers, Elton (Faye) Knighton and Ray (JoAnn) Knighton of Cochran; three step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.

The family is at 104 Lucas Road and will greet friends one hour before the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
