Cochran – Bessie Mae Wright Bryant, age 98, died Monday, October 31, 2022, in Dublin Place in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Bleckley County. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bryant, born in Laurens County and raised in Rebie, was the daughter of the late Lee and Katie Davis Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rev. James Earl Bryant, her sisters and brother, Florine Anderson, Lois Wright and Melvin Wright. Mrs. Bessie was retired form SunTrust Bank and was the wife of a Navy veteran and pastor. In her 80's she still climbed ladders while helping install a metal roof and also helped putting down sod. She was very active, when in good health, working in her yard and garden. Mrs. Bessie loved to cook and put up vegetables and fruit jelly every year. She was a member of Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church and the Sunshine Club.

Survivors are her son, James Curtis (Denise) Bryant of Cochran; her grandchildren, Curtis (Paula) Bryant of St. Simons, Linda (Zane) Dykes of Bonaire and Kristi (Michael) Corrigan of Macon; great grandchildren, Colby (Bailey) Bryant of Chauncey, Mallory (JT) Holton of Macon, Maci Dykes of Bonaire, Alyssa Corrigan of Macon and Jack Corrigan of Macon; great-great grandchildren, Amelia Holton, Cliff Holton, Beau Holton, Brooksley Holton, Bo Bryant, Sam Bryant and Luke Bryant; her sisters, Faye (Foster Goff) Bryant of Cochran, Doris Killebrew of Cochran and Rubye Killebrew of Lakeland, FL; her brother, J.D. (Shirley) Wright of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 137 Whippoorwill Landing, Cochran and will greet friends one hour before the service Wednesday at Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.
