Cochran – Bob C. Stroup, age 91, died Saturday, February 6, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bob, a life long resident of Bleckley County, was the son of the late William Alexander and Ella W. NeSmith Stroup. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and a US Air Force Veteran. He attended Bleckley County Schools, ran a lawn mower repair shop and was a member of Cochran Masonic Lodge #217 F&AM. Mr. Bob was a member and deacon at Cochran First Baptist Church and was a member of the Oneness Sunday School Class.

Survivors are his wife of 70 years, Martha R. Stroup of Cochran; his children, Don (Lisa Moore) Stroup, Beverly (Larry) Sullivan and Kay (Buddy Brewer) Stephenson all of Cochran, Gary (Lorie Gibson) Stroup of Macon; his grandchildren, Scott Stroup, Keri Cobb,  Chris Sullivan, Lance Sullivan, Brad Stephenson, Katie Stephenson, Dana Stephenson, Zack Stroup, Emmy Herrmann and Bo Stroup; seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; his brother, Rev. Albert (Hazel) Stroup of Thomson; his sister, Martha Connell of Foley, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Cochran First Baptist Church, 101 S. Second St., Cochran, GA 31014.

The family is at 664 Frank Cook Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the committal service Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear protective masks.
