Bobbie Lynette Bass Powell, age 70, of Montrose, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at her home, located at 1839 GA Highway 278, Montrose, Georgia 31065. The family will greet friends following the service.

Bobbie spent her earlier years in Bleckley County before moving to Laurens County. She was the daughter of the late Obie and Evelyn Bass of Cochran, Georgia. Her life revolved around her family, and she loved them deeply.

A faithful servant of God, Bobbie worshiped at Union Hill Baptist Church before moving to Montrose Baptist Church. She was a devoted follower of Christ whose generous heart was evident in the many ways she served her family, church, and community.

Bobbie graduated from Cochran High School and built a 38-year career with GEICO in Macon.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Marty Powell of Montrose; her children, Shaun (Tanya) Bass of Danville and Brandi Powell of Dudley; her brother, David (Pat) Bass of Macon; and her adoring nieces and nephews. Bobbie also claimed many children and grandchildren as her own and loved each of them dearly.

Guests are encouraged to dress casually and wear purple, Bobbie’s favorite color, in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Montrose Baptist Church, 4314 US 80W, Montrose, Georgia, 31065.

The love Bobbie shared shaped the lives of those around her throughout the years, and her memory will continue to be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
