Cochran – Bobby D. Sanders, age 88, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Bleckley County. He was the son of the late Lamar and Lottie Mae Cook Sanders and was preceded in death by his brother Conrad Sanders. He was a retired firefighter from Robins Air Force Base, a U.S. Navy veteran and chief bailiff for Bleckley County Courts. Mr. Bobby was a fiddle player, loved bluegrass music, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Roddy Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Sue D. Sanders of Cochran; his children, Brenda (Allan) Reeder of Albany and Tara (Brad) Sanders of Cochran; grandchildren, Brennen Sanders, Joe Reeder, Sam Reeder, Kate Sanders and Sally Reeder; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 735 Frank Cook Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
