Obituary

Dublin – Bobby Lesuer "Spooky" Gaultney, Jr., age 64, passed away peacefully Monday, August 5, 2024, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, just shy of his 65th birthday. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home.

Spooky, born in Jacksonville, FL, was the son of the late Verta V. Turner Lamb and Bobby L. Gaultney, Sr. and was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Gaultney of Jones County and his son-in-law, Timothy Garnto of Johnson County. He spent most of his life in Bleckley and Twiggs Counties and was a graduate of Bleckley County High School and was a certified CDL truck driver. Spooky was an avid hunter and fisherman and found the most peace in his life surrounded by the outdoors he enjoyed so much. He was a die-hard NASCAR fan and was completely heartbroken when Dale Earnhardt passed away in his fatal car crash in February 2001.

Survivors are his six children, Joey (Kat) Gaultney, Skye Garnto, Brandy (Hunter) Brewer, Blake Gaultney, Cole Gaultney and Sierra (Jon) Bickle; his grandchildren, Kourtney and Savannah Garnto, Wyatt, Ryder  and soon to be baby girl Brewer and Harper Bickle; his sisters, Gail Hill of Cochran and Cheryl Baptiste of Mississippi; his uncle, Cecil (Gail) Turner; aunt, Deana (Monroe) Landers; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be at 451 Maulk Thompson Road, Jeffersonville, Friday, August 9, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and will greet friends after the service Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Mathis Funeral Home.
