Cochran – Brian J. Smith, age 31, died Friday, July 20, 2018, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Brian, born in Macon, was a lifelong resident of Cochran. He was preceded in death by his infant niece, Kenna Marie Smith. He was an employee at Robins Air Force Base and a 2005 graduate of Bleckley County High School, where he played baseball. Brian loved the outdoors, duck hunting, deer hunting, fishing and softball. Brian supported and was involved with 30-30 Ministries and a member of Ruth Baptist Church.

Survivors are his parents, Ronnie and Wendy Smith of Cochran; his brother, Brad (Danielle) Smith of Cochran; grandparents, Charles and Betty Smith, Janice and Donald Wright of Cochran and Frank and Carolyn Conner of Hazlehurst; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his faithful Labrador retriever, Bailey.

The family is at 1092 Barlow Road and will greet friends after the service Sunday at Mathis Funeral Home.
