Carol Anne Argo Denmark, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, and is finally reunited with her beloved Mother and Father. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Carol will be cremated, with a graveside service for family to be held at a later date.

Born on July 25, 1951, Carol was the daughter of James and Marcia Argo. When she was 3, her family moved to Toccoa, Georgia, where she grew up and later graduated from Toccoa High School in 1968. She continued her education at the University of Georgia, earning her bachelor’s degree in Education in 1974. While building both her family life and her professional life, she also earned her Master’s degree as well as her Specialist Degree in Special Education and Administration.

Carol devoted much of her life to education. After retiring from that career, she began a second chapter as a mental health counselor in the state prison system, where she worked for many years before her final retirement. She later opened her dream business, Simply Made, in Cochran, Georgia. She loved being there, and she especially enjoyed socializing and sharing stories with the local community.

Among the many parts of her life, none meant more to Carol than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life and held a central place in the legacy she leaves behind.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marcia Argo, and by her sister, Brenda Bruni, all of Hillsborough, North Carolina.

Her legacy continues through her children, Monica Thomas of Glenwood, Georgia, Danielle (Tommy) Mullis and of Byron, Georgia, Brandon (Melissa) DiBois of Cochran, Georgia, Samantha DiBois of Cochran, Georgia, Zachary (Stacy) DiBois of Warner Robins, Georgia, Carianne (Stephen) Terry of Pineview, Georgia, and Calen (Ashley) Denmark of Cochran, Georgia.

She is also remembered by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Coody, Brook (Jeremy) Yarbrough, Alex (Madison) DiBois, Jordan DiBois, Lindsey Miller, Elisa Martinez, Johnny Martinez, Zoe DiBois, Sofia Martinez, Harrison Collins, Macianne Denmark, Natalie Denmark, Barrett Terry, Aubree Cayte Denmark, Wesley Terry, Loxley DiBois, Whitley Terry, and Baby Denmark, due February 2027. Her great-grandchildren are Briar Yarbrough, Westyn DiBois, and Stella DiBois.

Carol is also remembered by her sister, Deryl (Mike) McGuire, and her brother-in-law, Frank Bruni, all of Hillsborough, North Carolina, along with many loved nieces and nephews.

Carol’s life was marked by education, work, family, and the many connections she made along the way. She will be remembered by those who knew her and by the family whose lives continue to reflect the legacy she created.
