Cochran – Carolyn Elaine D. Effler, age 76, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in Atirum Health Navicent in Macon, surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6:00 P.M., in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Elaine was born on November 20, 1948, in Hawkinsville. She was the daughter of the late William Dan and Annis Daniels Dean. She was a graduate of Cochran High School, Class of 1967. Mrs. Elaine was married to her husband Herb for 53 years. She was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. After she retired, she worked at Walmart as a greeter for 10 years. Mrs. Elaine enjoyed greeting people, talking to them and getting to know them. She also loved her Walmart family. Mrs. Elaine loved to cook, traveling and going all over the place with her family. Mrs. Elaine was a Christian. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for many years as a teenager and later she became a member of First Baptist Church in Cochran.

Survivors include her husband, Herb Effler of Cochran; her children, Christy (Scott) Spinks of Cochran and Cheryl Hendrix of Eastman; her grandchildren, Bailey Sullivan and Chandler Hendrix; her siblings, Betty (Bill) Hinson of Cochran, William "Sonny" (Susan) Dean of Eastman, Shirley (Larry) Purser of Cochran and Dell Daniel of Cochran; several nieces and nephews, including her "favorite niece" Angie Files, that she loved so much.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday at Mathis Funeral Home.

The family is at 121 McVay Drive, Cochran. On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. a lunch will be served for family and friends.
