Cochran – Cathy Pope Smith, age 65, died Friday, August 27, 2021, in Phoebe Putney Hospital North in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Twiggs County.

Cathy grew up in Twiggs County and had lived in Cochran since 1990. She was the daughter of the late Emmett Felton, Sr. and Ruby Moore Pope and was preceded in death by her brother, Emmett Felton Pope, Jr. Cathy delivered papers for The Macon Telegraph, was a homemaker and loved birds and flowers. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Jimmy Reese Smith of Cochran; her children, Chad Smith and Kelli Smith (Rocky) Bass; her "angels" grandchildren Austin and Kinley Smith of Cochran; her sisters, Rose Gale Jackson of Twiggs County and Reba (Joe) Allen of Thomaston; several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends after the service Sunday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
