Cochran – Charles O. Powell, age 85, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, in The Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 30, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends after the service Monday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Powell was a lifelong resident of Bleckley County. He was the son of the late A.G. and Ruth M. Powell and was the husband of the late Betty Hobbs Peacock Powell. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dolly Hart, Alice Powell, Evlenia Powell and brother, Carlton Powell. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church in Chester where he looked forward to "all day dinners and eating on the grounds" and always known to furnish the tomatoes. Mr. Charles will always be remembered for his "quick wit"!

Survivors are his sister, Sally (Lewis) Strickland of Locust Grove; step-daughter, Karen Cooler of Cochran; step-grandson, Dustin Cooler and family of Green Lane, PA; nephew, Roy (Sherri) Hart of Cochran.
