Cochran – Charlie C.A. Floyd, age 89, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery.
Mr. Floyd, born in Dodge County, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late Walter Augustus and Ester Lucas Floyd and was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Skipper Floyd and his son La-Rue Floyd. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. C.A. was a member and deacon of Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church where he taught Sunday School, was assistant choir director and enjoyed singing and speaking at churches.
Survivors are his wife, Alice Ruth Floyd of Cochran; his children, Susan (Tim) Goodwin of Hawkinsville and Katherine (Earl) Jones of Gray, Marcus (Chyrl) Floyd of Cochran and Bruce (Peggy) Floyd of Wilmore, KY; daughter-in-law, Brenda Floyd of Cochran; step-son, Stan Walston of Kansas City, KS; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his sister, Eunice Smith of Kansas City, KS; several nieces and nephews.
The family is at 154 Ninth St., Cochran and will greet friends one hour before the service Wednesday at Empire Pentecostal Church.
