Chyrl Ann
Howell Floyd
Sep 12, 1956 — Jun 8, 2021
Cochran – Chyrl Ann Howell Floyd, age 64, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, in Pinewood Manor in Hawkinsville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery
Chyrl, born on September 12, 1956 in Tacoma, Washington, had lived in many places in the world with her father, a US Air Force Veteran, before settling in Cochran. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Edward and Faye Howell, two very special friends, Cheryl Perdue and Angela May, aunt and uncle, Alice and Hilton Perdue. She was a 1974 graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins and pursued a degree in nursing with two friends who became family, Iris O'Berry and Patricia Hunter. She was a caring and compassionate nurse for many years until she took on her greatest role as "Nana". Chyrl enjoyed going to church, watching westerns, sending cards as her ministry and spending time as she could with her grandbabies. She was a member of Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Marcus Floyd of Cochran; her daughter, DeeAnn (Douglas) Greene of Roddy; two grandchildren, that were the light and love of her life, Grady and Dollie Rose Greene; special family friends, Norma and Wendy Bowen of Hawkinsville; her chosen adoptive mother, Merle Nelson of Hawkinsville.
A special thank you to her caregivers, that were like family, at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home.
The family will greet friends one hour before the service Thursday at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church.
