Cochran – Cletus John Mullis, age 83, died Monday, February 1, 2021, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cletus, born in Dodge County, was the son of the late Henry "Crack" and Eva Bass Mullis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wyndell H. Mullis, his sister, Venoree Mullis and his granddaughter, Lauren Clardy. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Mercer University. He served in the United States Army, was a business owner in Warner Robins and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Cletus was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman who "loved God, Country and quail". He was a member of the Chester Lions Club and was instrumental in re-establishing the Republican Party in Dodge County. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he taught the Adult Sunday School Class. Mr. Cletus loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors are his wife, Imogene Hosford Mullis of Cochran; his children, Dr. Lynn (Becky) Mullis of Cochran and Wendy Mullis (Dr. Rick) Clardy of Dublin; grandchildren, Whitney (Jacob) Hall, Linsey (Aaron) Barber, Rachel Clardy, Will Clardy, Sara Beth Martin and Michael Martin, 5 great-grandchildren; brother, James "Bubba" Mullis and sister Marie M. Davis; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Macedonia Church Rd, Cochran, GA 31014 or to Serenity Hospice of Dublin, 520 Hillcrest Pkwy, Dublin, GA 31021.
The family is at 2171 Nicholson-Carr Rd and will greet friends after the service Wednesday at the cemetery.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear protective masks.
