Cochran – Clyde English, age 81, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Clyde was born and had lived most of his life in Bleckley County. He was the son of the late W.B., Sr. and Mary Fleming English and was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Hobbs English and his brother Bill English. He was owner and operator of Dexter Sportswear, a 1958 graduate of Cochran High School and graduate of Southern Tech. Clyde was an avid golfer and golf instructor. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts and loved animals, especially his dogs.

Survivors are his children, Glenda English of Douglas, Andy (Tonya) English of Dublin and Elaine (Hugh) Avery of Dexter; grandchildren, Megan Brigmond, Duncan English and Erin English; his sister, Diane (Gerald) Smith of Cochran; his brother, Paul (Ann) English of Cochran; his sister-in-law, Rosaria English of Gretna; LA; special friend, Dot Rowland of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends Thursday after the committal service at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
