Cochran – Corwynn "Cory" Lee Parfitt, age 72, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at his residence. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home.

Mr. Cory was born on August 22, 1950, in Mesa Arizona. He was the son of the late Rexford "Rex" and Anne Chaffey Parfitt and was preceded in death by his brother, Allard Parfitt. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.  Mr. Cory was retired and had worked as a mechanic at Clay's Automotive and as a machinist for Boeing, Macon Plastics and Graphic Packaging. Mr. Cory had a great work ethic and made everyone around him work hard, especially his three daughters. Whether it was holding a flashlight so he could work on a car or digging a hole, he expected them to do it the right way. Mr. Cory was a 3rd degree black belt and was a former martial arts instructor. He also coached soccer. He loved to sing and play his guitar and even wrote a few songs about the Navy. He also enjoyed fishing, working outside and watching old movies (especially old westerns) and old television shows (The Andy Griffith Show).

Survivors are his Special Friend, Mrs. Betty "Sarah" Hatton of Cochran; his daughters, Jennifer Parfitt of Perry, Debbie (Corey) Merritt of Cochran and Renee Parfitt of Douglas; his sons, Shawn Patat and Tommy Patat; his grandchildren, Drew, Gracie, Hailey, Kaylie, Erin, Taylor, Kristina "Little Bit" and many more; his siblings, Beverly, Debbie, Eric and Felicia; several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at 2801 W Chicken Road and will greet friends after the service on Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
