Chester – Dakota Rowland, age 18, died Friday, August 17, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rowland Family Cemetery.

Dakota was a lifelong resident of Chester. He was the grandson of the late Wayne Rowland and Red and Mary Lee Mullis. He was a 2018 graduate of Dodge County High School Achievement Center and ran for the Dodge County Cross Country Team from 6 ^th grade until 12 ^th grade. Dakota was an avid Florida Gators Fan and enjoyed all sports, hunting and being with his friends. He had attended Rowland Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Chester.

Survivors are his parents, Bradd and Kim Rowland of Chester; his brother, Brannon Rowland of Chester; his sisters, Harley (Jacob) Hinson and Cierra (Robert) Mullis of Cochran; four nieces and 1 nephew; grandparents, Mary Lou (Bobby) Reynolds of Cochran and Barbara Rowland of Chester.

The family is at 1024, Chester-Cochran Highway and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
