Dr. Daniel Guerin Guerrant of Cochran, Georgia, passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 68.

Born in Roanoke, Virginia, Daniel was the son of the late Robert S. and Helen O. Guerrant. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Somerset "Sonny" O. Guerrant. He is survived by his brothers, David Guerrant and Emerson Roy Guerrant; nieces Amber Yeatts (husband Chadd), Crystal Guerrant, and Molly Guerrant (fiancée Jason); nephews Benjamin Guerrant and Tyler Guerrant (wife Lindsay); and grandnieces and grandnephews Victoria Yeatts, Olive Guerrant, Blaise Guerrant, Grace Guerrant, and Ava Guerrant.

Daniel earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Political Science from Virginia Tech and later completed a Ph.D. at the University of Georgia. His academic career began at Frostburg State University in Maryland before he dedicated 22 years to teaching at Middle Georgia State University.

Daniel had a passion for the outdoors, a love for quirky humor, and a deep interest in studying World War II history. He cherished spending time with family and enjoyed extended holidays with loved ones in Virginia. Those who knew him will remember his kind nature and his dry, witty sense of humor.
