Donna Lee Chastain Larsen, passed away, October 6, 2021, in Monroe County Hospital in Forsyth, Ga, at the age of 77. A private graveside service will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 am at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran, Ga.

Donna was the daughter of the late Nelson Avery Chastain, Sr. and Sara Vivian Light Chastain and was born and raised in Atlanta GA.  She was a graduate of Briarcliff High School, attended Middle GA College, graduate of Georgia Southern College, and received a Master of Education from Georgia Southwestern College.  She was a dedicated teacher with a love for children, teaching for 30 years in the Bleckley County School System and 2 years in the Twiggs County School System.  She was member of the GA Retired Educators Association and the Delta Kappa Gamma teacher's sorority.

In 1972, Donna became a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Cochran.  She was a member of the Oneness Sunday School Class for over 25 years.  She loved to serve and praise the Lord as a member of the church choir, Saints Alive Singing Seniors, working with the Bold Mission Builders and the WMU.

She is survived by her sweet, loving, and caring daughter Avery Lee, son-in-law, Scott and grandson Parker Henson of Forsyth, GA.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Melanie C. Truluck of Cordele, GA.  She is also survived by her brother, Nelson Avery Chastain, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Opelika, AL and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and one great-great nephew.

Donna will always be remembered for her faith, the love of her church family, her friends, the Atlanta Braves and especially her love of her many puppy dogs.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzhiemer's Association.
