Cochran – Donnis Smith Fowler, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024, at her sister's residence, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., in Limestone Baptist Church. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Donnis was a lifelong resident of Bleckley County. She was the daughter of the late Robert Monroe and Louise Leona Hatfield Smith and was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gail Fowler and her sister, Belva Pritchett. She was a graduate of Cochran High School and had worked Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mrs. Donnis had a big heart. She was a giving and loving person who loved helping others. She was a lifelong devoted member of Limestone Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, she led Acteens for many years and helped with Vacation Bible School.

Survivors are her sister, Pearl Kreindler of Cochran; her niece, Jerell (Stan) Thomas and great nieces, Megan (Kane) Ateshian and McKenna Thomas; her sister-in-law, Cheryl (Lauren) Watson of Norway, NY; her brother-in-law, Reese C. Fowler of Manchester, NH.

The family is at 555 Limestone Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Friday at Limestone Baptist Church.
