Cochran – Earl R. Arnold, age 90, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Bleckley Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Earl, born in Dodge County, had lived most of his life in Bleckley County. He was the son of the late Claude and Effie Scarborough Arnold and was preceded in death by his wife Janice Grantham Arnold and his son Troy Arnold. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was an entrepreneur and was instrumental in bringing Wal-Mart and Havenwood Gardens and Havenwood Daisey Senior Apartments to Cochran. Mr. Earl loved his community and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors are his son, Keith (Anne Sawyer) Arnold of Macon; his grandchildren, Matthew Ryan (Amber) Arnold of Newnan and Daniel (Deborah) Arnold of Cochran; seven great grandchildren; his sisters, Jean Nelson of Eastman and Betty Purser of Elijay.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 608 GA Highway 26 E, Cochran, GA 31014.

The family will greet friends after the service Friday at Mathis Funeral Home.
