Cochran – Edward C. "E.C." Preston, III, age 57, died Sunday, October 21, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

E.C. was a lifelong resident of Cochran. He was the son of the late Edward Carey Preston, Jr. and Benita Sue Hinson Preston Pitts and was preceded in death by his step-dad, Kenneth Pitts. He was an employee at Robins Air Force Base and an electrician. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his yard.

He is survived by and was the loving husband of Gloria H. Preston of Cochran; step-children, Tonya (Jeff) Lassiter and Todd Churchwell of Cochran; grandchildren, Ashley, Jake, Makayla, Carson and Landon; sisters, Annette (Randy) Toney and Patty (Deen) Mathews of Macon, Cindy (Neal) Patton of Cochran and Laniey (Richard) Bryant of Warner Robins; brothers, John (Vickie) Pitts of Bonaire and Tim (Carol) Hinson of Cochran; his cousin he loved as a brother, Quinton Hinson of Cochran; his cousin he loved as a sister, Pam H. Cumbie of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 135 Alvin Purser Road and will greet friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
