Cochran – Elder Willie J. Hatfield, Jr., age 79, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, January 1, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Elder Hatfield, a lifelong resident of Bleckley County, was the son of the late Willie Jefferson, Sr. and Florence Smith Hatfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Smith Hatfield and his daughter, Shelia Hatfield Helms. Elder Hatfield was retired from J.M. Huber Corp. and a graduate of Cochran High School. He was the pastor at Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church in Chester.

Survivors are his son, Jeff Hatfield of Cochran; his grandchildren, Davy (Mitzi) Helms, Kyle Helms, Brittney Lewis, Jay (Callie) Hatfield and Scott (Kimberly) Hatfield; great grandchildren, Dallas, Aubrey, Anna Kate, Cole, Tanner and Tate; his brother, Charlie Hatfield of Marietta; his sister, Juanita Gay of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 741 Limestone Road, Cochran and will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until time for the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
