Cochran –Rev. Eschol Vernon Wiggins, Jr., age 85, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. Memorial funeral services will be held Monday, October 3, 2022, at 11:00 A.M., in Trinity Episcopal Church in Cochran. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Rev. Wiggins was born in Garfield, Georgia on November 21, 1936. He was the son of the late Eschol Vernon Sr., and Hilda Boatright Wiggins and was preceded in death by his son, Barry Lewis Wiggins. He was a graduate of Cradock High School in Portsmouth, VA and Georgia College in Milledgeville. He was retired from the US Forest Service where he worked in electronics and had worked as an instructor at many different schools including Macon Technical College. Rev. Wiggins had a passion for electronics and loved tinkering and building things. He was also a retired priest and served at Trinity Episcopal Church in Cochran.

Survivors are his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Joan M. Wiggins of Cochran; his son, Mark (Carol) Wiggins of Lexington, SC; his daughter, Amy (Mike) Lee of Cochran; grandchildren, John A. (Sydney) Wiggins of Lexington, SC, Jackie W. (Joe) Kaminer of Lexington, SC, Cohen Lee of Cochran and Veronica Lee of Cochran; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Ellie Wiggins; sisters, Donna (Carl) Russell of Anchorage, AK and Mary Bowman of Anchorage, AK; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 170 Hillcrest Drive in Cochran and will greet friends after the 11 A.M. service Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church.
