Obituary

Cochran – Evelyn Dominy Horne, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Bryant Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cochran. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in Cochran at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Evelyn had lived her entire life in Bleckley County. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Rosa Lee Ellington Dominy and the wife of the late Rawlins Horne. One of nine children, she is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters:  Lamar Dominy, George Dominy, Walter "Brother" Dominy, Doris Daniels, Jean Jarrell, Nina Bryant and Royce Dominy. Mrs. Evelyn retired from Robins Air Force Base in 1973. Mrs. Evelyn's greatest love was her family and her Savior Jesus Christ.  Her second love was music.  She found great joy in playing the piano whether for her church or with the family gathered around. The love she deeply understood through Jesus Christ manifested itself in how she loved her family and others. As aging took away many things, her ability to play and sing was not lost. Music was her comfort and the way she served her local church through her lifetime. This love of music came from an inward place of deep worship to her LORD. She was a member of Cochran First Baptist Church and her strong faith in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit sustained her throughout her life.

Survivors are her children, Edward (Deborah) Coley, Jr. and Teresa (Robert) Fletcher of Cochran and Dale (Wayne) Smith of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Chris Coley, Alisha Cardinal, Shaine Morris, Will Coley, Joy McCammon, Matthew Smith, Bailey Lanier and Annie Stuart; great grandchildren, Amanda Sellers, Mallory Coley, Lauren Coley, Tori Coley, Mollie Coley, Christian Sryock, Kassie Holder, Emily Coley, Meighan McCammon, Caid McCammon, Noah Smith, Finley Lanier, Ivy Lanier and June Stuart; great great grandchildren, Aviana Thomas, Serenity Thomas, Lyrica Coley, Addilyn Holder and Grayson Holder; her sister, Joyce Phillips of Cochran and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Sandra Gibbs, Bryant Nursing Center and Serenity Hospice for their loving care.

The family is at 277 Country Club Rd., Cochran and will greet friends one hour before the service Saturday at Cochran First Baptist Church.
