Cochran – Frances Phillips Dix, age 90, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, in Bryant Nursing and Rehab Center in Cochran. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service Wednesday at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery.

Mrs. Frances was born in Dodge County and had lived most of her life in Empire. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys West Phillips and was preceded in death by her husband Wilber David Dix, her son, Jimmy Dix, her granddaughter, Casey Kroesser, her son-in-law, Joe Fletcher and her sister, Shirley Williams. She was a graduate of Chester High School and a homemaker. Mrs. Frances was a member of Roddy Baptist Church.

Survivors are her children, Karen Fletcher of Cochran, Sherrie Dix of Warner Robins and David (Susan) Dix of Cochran; her nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; her sister, Sue Belflower of Yonker; her brother, James (Peggy) Phillips of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.
