Cochran – Franklin Leroy Dabbs, age 83, died Friday, August 14, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. at Roddy Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Dabbs, born in Bessemer, AL, had lived in Cochran since 1968. He was the son of the late Rollan E. and Corine Docia Frazier Dabbs. He was a retired SMSgt Air Force Veteran after 26 years of service. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, member of the Cochran Men's Club and Bleckley County Sportsman's Club. Mr. Frank was a member and deacon at Roddy Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and led singing. He also taught Sunday School at the At Home assisted living in Cochran.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Sue Dabbs of Cochran; his children, Bobby (Amy) Dabbs and Lonnie (Stefanie) Dabbs of Cochran, Laurie (Darryl) Thompson of McRae and Angel (Keith) Stewart of Bessemer, AL; grandchildren, Jessie Pickle, Anna Selph, Dalton Dabbs, Lindsey Dabbs, Keagin Stewart, Parker Smith and Alyssa Smith; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends one hour before the service Monday at Roddy Baptist Church.
