Chester – Gary Wayne Rowland, age 69, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Rowland Chapel Church of The Nazarene in Chester. Burial will be in Rowland Family Cemetery.

Mr. Gary was born in Chester on November 6, 1953. He was the son of the late Ralph and Josephine Oxley Rowland and was preceded in death by his grandparents Minnie Floyd and Theo Oxley, his sisters, Shirley Partain and Joan Warren and many more loved ones. He was a lifelong farmer having worked for Rowland Farms and he also worked as a mechanic. Mr.  Gary was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was member of Rowland Chapel Church of The Nazarene.

Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Glenda Rowland of Chester; his children, Shannon (Spencer) Smith of Eastman, Brad (Cherie) Rowland of Chester and Tanya (Jimmy) Rhodes of Chester; his grandchildren, Eddie (Irma) Smith, Meddie (Adam) Fuller, Shandler Smith, Shyenne Smith, Shylah Smith, Sharity Smith Shayden Smith, Shelby Rhodes and Dawson Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Rylan Fuller, Nolan Fuller, Mila Fuller and Meddie Smith; his siblings, Rhonda (Jerl) Rowland, Tony (Sharon) Rowland, Randy (Reda) Rowland, and Belinda Coody; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family is at 1007 John Edge Rd, Chester and will greet friends Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Rowland Chapel Church of The Nazarene in Chester.
