Cochran – Gene Francis Sanders, age 66, took his first breath in Jesus's arms on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Mathis Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating.

Mr. Gene was born in Hawkinsville on August 2, 1956. He was the son of the late Jim and Drue Parham Sanders and was preceded in death by his siblings, Edith Sanders, Marvin Sanders and Cleta Holmes. He had lived and worked in Florida for 47 years. He worked in construction and was co-owner of Dane Construction. After he retired, he moved back to Georgia to his new home that he called the "Sanderosa". He loved Hunting, Fishing, The History Channel and spending time with family and friends, especially his beloved wife, Nancy. He was a self-made man and a gentle giant (Sasquatch) who would help anyone he could throughout his life.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy Sanders of Cochran; his many kids, grandkids, and two great grandchildren; his siblings: James Sanders, Luke Sanders, Billy Ray Sanders, Wayne Sanders and Sylvia Westbury; several nieces and nephews

The family is at 157 Beck Powell Road and will greet friends Saturday, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home.
