Cochran – Gentie Clyde "Sonny" Berryhill, Jr., age 96, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sonny was born in Cochran, GA. He was the son of the late Gentie Clyde Berryhill, Sr. and Patsy Bollinger Berryhill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Collier Berryhill; his granddaughter, Nicole Smith; his siblings, Henry Fred Berryhill, Sr., John "Skeebo" Berryhill, Wendell Berryhill, Rosa Williams Stancil and William Henry "Bill" Berryhill.  Mr. Sonny served in the United States Army for four years during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army, he served in the United States Army National Guard for six years. He was retired and had worked as a tractor operator. Mr. Sonny was a Christian.

Survivors are his children, David, Sr. (Sandy) Berryhill of Empire, Johnnie Faye Berryhill of Brunswick and Connie Smith of Marietta; his grandchildren, David Berryhill, Jr., Tyler Joe Berryhill, Jessica Faye Godsey, Laique Haider, Jr. and Andrea Rowley; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. on Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
