Cochran – George Amos Austin, age 74, died Saturday, May 23, 2020, in the Advanced Health and Rehab in Jeffersonville. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, May 25, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

George, born in Buena Vista, had lived in Americus before moving to Cochran 22 years ago. He was the son of the late Charles B., Sr. and Mary Frances Culpepper Austin and was preceded in death by his sister, Fay Austin McKenzie. He was retired from Lithonia Lighting in Cochran and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing his guitar. George was a Christian and loved his family, especially his son and grandsons.

Survivors are his wife, Cheryl Austin of Cochran; his son, Keith (Marion) Austin of Norway; his grandsons, Erron (Cassie) Austin of Ellaville and Tyler Austin of Lake Blackshear; his great grandson, Wyatt Austin of Ellaville; his brother, Charles (Martha) Austin of Buena Vista; his nephews, Shelley (Elizabeth) McKenzie of Norcross and Michael Austin of Buena Vista.
