Empire – Gerald Franklin "Hank" Painter, Jr, age 70, died Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Coliseum Hospital in Macon. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 11:00 A.M., in the Cochran Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

"Hank" was born in Winchester, VA, on April 22, 1950. He was the son of the late Gerald Franklin, Sr. and Dollie Knighting Painter and was preceded in death by his sisters, Melonie and Melinda. He was retired from D&B Homecare where he worked as a medical appliance technician.  Hank's true passion was music. He was a drummer and a vocalist and played in numerous bands at venues all over the Eastern United States. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors are his wife, Kathy Painter; his daughter, Laura (B.J.) Ellis; his son, Paul (April) Painter; step-children, Donna Pruett, Jason Pruett, Emily Macnamara, Rhonda Miller, Missy Miller, Kymberly Allen and David Allen; several grandchildren; brother, Mark (Whitney) Painter; sister, Lillie (George) Brigham; sister-in-law, Susan (Danny) Collins and best friend, Mike Day.
