Cochran – Glenda Yearty Lassiter, age 71, died Friday, January 8, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 3:30 P.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Glenda had lived most of her life in Cochran and was the daughter of the late O.R. Sr. and Ruby Sapp Yearty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lassiter and her brother, O.R. Yearty, Jr. She was a retired teacher, having taught in the Bleckley County, Monroe County and Twiggs County school systems. She was a 1967 graduate of Cochran High School where she played varsity basketball. Glenda was a graduate of Georgia Southwestern University where she received her under graduate and master's degrees in Early Childhood Education. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in her early years and then a member at Bethany Baptist Church and also enjoyed livestream services from First Baptist Church in Cochran.

Survivors are her children, Von (Kelli) Lassiter of Cochran and Lyn (Cliff) Bush of Hawkinsville; her grandchildren, Derek (Melanie) Bush, Jeanie (Tony) Mullis, Phillip (Chrissi Aaron) Bush all of Hawkinsville, Zach Lassiter, Zane Lassiter and Zayden Lassiter all of Cochran; four great grandchildren;  her sister, Delma (Walker) Fricks of Bonaire; her brother, Ricky (Jan) Yearty of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bleckley County High School Athletic Department, 1 Royal Drive, Cochran, GA 31014

The family is at 1242  Daisy Adams Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Sunday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
