Dalton – Grady Lamar Benson, age 70, died Friday, October 26, 2018, in Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton. A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home.

Mr. Benson was raised and had lived in Cochran before moving to South Carolina and then to Dalton. He was the son of the late Grady Franklin Benson and Iria Musick Ross Benson and was preceded in death by his daughter Stacey Benson. He was a mechanic and US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors are his step-daughter, Amy Cacal of Dalton; his sisters, Laverne Polly Walker and Faye (Elton) Knighton of Cochran; brother, Doyle (Janice) Benson of Connecticut; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
