Cochran - Helen Joyce Wilkes, 76, passed away peacefully on December 10,2022, in Bryant Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cochran.

Mrs. Wilkes was born in Macon on November 12, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Myrtice Cromer Garrett and was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wayne Wilkes, whom she adored, and her son John Wilkes. She spent her childhood in Macon and attended schools there. For many years she was a server at Daisey's Diner. She loved her job because she loved people. She truly never met a stranger and it seemed as though anywhere she went she would run into someone she knew. She loved to talk and never missed an opportunity to tell anyone who would listen, all about her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (David) Stewart; her sister, Sherry Blackburn, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, a nephew and many dear friends met over the years.
