Twiggs County – Horace Sanders, age 83, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Atrium Health Navicent in Macon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in Elsharath Baptist Church in Twiggs County. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Horace was a lifelong resident of Twiggs County. He was the son of the late Victor and Doris Amerson Sanders and was preceded in death by his six siblings. He was retired from Peacock Meats in Cary. Mr. Horace loved God, his family, church and his community. He was a member and deacon of Elsharath Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Esselean Sanders of Twiggs County; his children, Lynn (Lora) Sanders of Cochran and Sharon (Troy) Jackson of Kathleen; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren; his brother, Joe (Martha) Sanders of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 254 Rainbow Road, Cochran (Twiggs County) and will greet friends one hour before the service Saturday at Elsharath Baptist Church.
