Cochran – Hosey E. Mullis, age 89, died Monday, July 31, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, at 11:00 A.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hosey was born on March 27, 1934, in Bleckley County. He was the son of the late Hosey and Ora Purser Mullis and was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Clemons Mullis and his siblings, Kess Mullis, Melvin "Shorty" Mullis, Florence Slaughter, Peggy Hilliard, Billy Joe Mullis and W.C. Mullis. He had lived in Plant City, Florida before moving back to Cochran 32 years ago. He was retired from IMC Fertilizer, Inc. where he had worked as a diesel mechanic. Mr. Hosey was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors are his children, Judy Woody and Michael E. (Ida) Mullis of Cochran, Marlene (Howard Wayne) Southerland of Keysville, FL and Melissa Mullis Butler of Riverview, FL; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 2403 W Chicken Rd and will greet friends an hour before the service Thursday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
