Cochran – Howard "Shorty" Little, age 92, died Monday, September 23, 2019, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Little was a lifelong resident of Bleckley County. He was the son of the late Linus and Mollie Mae Little and was preceded in death by his wives, Nell Berryhill Little and Bessie Thompson Little and his brothers, Bill Little, Wallace Little and Pirkle Little. He was owner and operator of Little Plumbing and a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Shorty was a former Cochran Police Officer and Bleckley County Sheriff's Deputy. He was a member of Limestone Baptist Church.

Survivors are his sons, Chuck (Laura) Little and Joe Little of Cochran; his step-daughter, Gale (Joe) Maynard of Cochran; grandchildren, Jason (Mandy) Little, Amanda (Mike) Dillard, Anitra Little of Cochran and Heather Carter, Raleigh, NC; great grandchildren, Brody Little, Tabitha Little, Darci Dillard, Josh Dillard, Jordan Purser and Harley Purser all of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 104 Lucas Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
